The Ten Biggest Mistakes People Buying Gifts Make - Mistake No 4

Meaningful Gifts do not include Household Goods

A personal gift can never be underestimated. Whilst you think the person may just love a juicer, coffee machine, egg poacher – don’t do it. Something personal is a much more meaningful gift.

I am obsessed with plates, those decorative plates for the kitchen to serve food. I am completely drawn to them in kitchen stores, websites and large department stores. I have to stop myself buying just one more plate or dish, they look so beautiful to me. I have even bought those beautiful japanese dishes as gifts – I have no idea whether they were used or liked. I have made 2 critical mistakes – No 1 and No 4. Buying what I like and buying household goods.

A well chosen personal gift based on the principles in my first article will ensure that your gift is well received. If you feel you really must buy household goods, personalise it with a small personal gift to show you have taken extra care. That is what makes a great gift - a meaningful gift
