The Thoughts of Nanushka

I had never heard of Nanushka, until 3 years ago, when I was given the  very special gift of three volumes of her poetry.  She talks of love, life and loss within her poems - this is one I especially like.

We do not have to rely
upon memories
to recapture the spirit
of those we have loved and lost -
they live within our souls
in some perfect sanctuary
which even death
cannot destroy -

From The Thoughts of Nanushka Vol VII-XII - Nan Witcomb

Until next time

  1. I recieved volume 13 26 years ago from a friend. I pick it up every so often, however I know these beautiful poems by heart & I have used a few together at my dear Brothers Memorial in 1996... Bret
